Introducing the Out of Order Shaker Happy Hour

Somewhere on this dial, the night is only getting started.

Right now, somewhere in the world, a bartender is setting out the first glasses of the evening. Somewhere else the chairs are already going up on the tables. Both of those hours are happening at the same time, and this is the watch that will tell you so.

That is where the idea came from. The Shaker is a GMT, so it tracks a second time zone around a 24-hour bezel. Travelers use that to keep one eye on home. We thought it could be pointed at something better. Set that bezel where the evening is beginning, and your watch stops reporting that it is Tuesday afternoon and starts reminding you it is six o’clock in Lisbon.

The Hour We Painted

Every good night has a moment where it tips over. Our artists went looking for that moment and put what they found across the dial.

A skeleton in a party hat is holding a beer, which is going about as well as you would expect. A woman in red is dancing. An eight ball and a joker card sit where somebody put them down when the conversation got more interesting. Two cocktails meet in a toast, confetti coming down, club light running across the whole thing in blue. And in the middle of it, a yellow face with red eyes and its tongue out, completely finished.

Every dial is painted by hand, so the studio never turns out two identical ones. Look at yours closely and you will keep finding things.

After Dark

The bezel numbering is printed in Superluminova under a domed crystal insert, so when the lights drop it comes up green. Turn the watch over in a dark bar and the whole conceit works twice.

The Watch Underneath

Out of Order is Italian, and it has spent ten years making watches that look like they have been somewhere. The Cocktail collection marks that anniversary, with the Shaker at the middle of it. Naming a watch after a drink and then painting the consequences onto its face felt like the obvious thing to do.

The build backs it up. A 40mm 316L steel case, brushed and polished, 13.25mm thick, on a full link steel bracelet with a deployant clasp. Inside is the Japanese NH34A automatic with its GMT function. It is rated to 300 meters, and the domed crystal is sapphire coated and treated against reflections, so you can read the painting from any angle you catch it at.
